We visited some catchments and institutes with researchers from the University of the South Pacific (USP). We also collected samples of corals and starfishes for genetic analysis.

We took a small aircraft for domestic trip from Nadi to Suva in Fiji.We had a seminar at USP, presenting our several research topics. Left: Prof. Leon Zann (Director, Marine Studies Programme, USP).
We had a field trip along the Coral Coast, south of Fiji. There are well-developed fringing reefs.We can see evidence of soil erosion (bare areas particularly on steep slopes) in Fiji.
